Alpha Introduces New Should Screw Attached Heat Sinks

april, 2016 - alpha has expanded its wide range of off-the-shelf products to meet customer requirements.

we have added larger versions of shoulder screw attached heat sinks to our standard catalog to support increasing requests for heat sinks mounted with shoulder screws and springs.

standard ub and lpd series heat sinks over 70mm square could not be attached with shoulder screws and springs, unless custom assemblies and part numbers were created. these new ub_s and lpd_s series heat sinks have been designed specifically for shoulder screw and spring attachment. four screws and springs will be used to accommodate the greater mass as opposed to the two hole design of the smaller standard shoulder screw heat sinks.

customers can choose the most appropriate heat sink configuration for a given application with ub or lpd fin pattern options. we offer many screw/spring combinations, and customers can easily adjust the attachment force using our online selection tool feature. new standard backing plates were created to match the shoulder screw layout, and can be used as board attachment hardware and to prevent board warpage.

new shoulder screw attached heat sinks:

model name base size (mm) height (mm)
ub**s- **b 80x80, 90x90, 100x100 15, 20, 25, 30
lpd**s-**b

please visit our online catalog - shoulder screw attached heat sinks for additional details.

shipments will begin on middle~late march of 2016.
