Cambridge Nanotherm appoints LED expert Dorsheimer to board of directors

cambridge nanotherm, producer of innovative nanoceramic thermal management technology, recently announced the appointment of solid-state lighting expert jed dorsheimer to the company’s board of directors.

dorsheimer’s role as managing director of equity research, display and lighting, at us-based investment banking and institutional research firm canaccord genuity makes him the ideal candidate to help develop the company’s strategic direction. a respected expert on solid-state lighting, dorsheimer was ranked as the fifth most influential person in the lighting industry by lux magazine. he brings a unique perspective of both the current state, and the future direction, of the solid-state lighting industry.

cambridge nanotherm ceo erwin wolf said: “as led manufacturers switch their focus to general lighting leds are getting brighter and this is causing them to heat up. this isn’t good for the led chip which degrades rapidly when too hot. getting the heat out of the chip as effectively as possible is critical and that’s where cambridge nanotherm’s industry-leading thermal management solutions come in.

“jed’s unique combination of technical and commercial knowledge, coupled with industry-leading financial expertise, will go a long way to helping us to capitalise on the market.”

“jed is a perfect fit for nanotherm as we progress to the next stage in our growth strategy. we’re delighted to welcome him to the board, and i look forward to working alongside him.”

dorsheimer has received considerable plaudits from major media outlets, including the wall street journal and forbes, which have both ranked jed number 1 for stock picking performance.

a respected industry expert, jed regularly co-chairs and presents at several leading events around the world, and regularly appears on cnbc.

on his appointment, dorsheimer said: “it’s a great time to be joining the board of directors of cambridge nanotherm as the company continues its rapid growth. the company is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the developments in the led market driven by the general lighting segment.”

“the potential for cambridge nanotherm is huge, and i’m looking forward to working with erwin and the rest of the team to help the company achieve its business aims.”

jed graduated from bentley college with a degree in finance and has attended classes at both harvard university and boston university’s school of engineering working on analog and digital circuit design, as well as material sciences.
