Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc. (ATS), a leading-edge thermal engineering and manufacturing company focused on the thermal management of electronics, is pleased to announce the next topic in its series of monthly, online webinars covering different aspects of the thermal management of electronics will be “Thermal Management of Automotive Battery Packs.”
The hour-long, live webinar will be presented by Kaveh Azar, Ph.D., the co-founder, president, and CEO of ATS and a world-renowned expert in the thermal management of electronics.
The next webinar will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 2:00-3:00 ET. There will be time allotted at the end of the webinar for questions and answers with Dr. Azar.
Batteries play a key role in the electrification of transportation. As electrochemical devices, battery performance, safety, and life depend on temperature. At high temperatures, although performance improves, batteries degrade faster, and safety becomes a concern. At low temperatures, the battery capacity and resistance increase, leading to lower energy and power capabilities.
Therefore, thermal management of the battery pack becomes very important to achieve the intended performance and durability. This webinar will address the theory of this thermal management of batteries and their charging, and specific strategies that can be used.
This series will be perfect for experienced engineers as well as those just starting out in the industry.
The full list of upcoming webinars and their respective dates is as follows:
- Thursday, November 29 – Heat Pipes and Vapor Chambers in Heat Transfer
- Thursday, December 20 – Stump the Engineer Live II
- Thursday, January 17 – Methodologies for Fan Characterization and Deployment
- Thursday, February 21 – Air Cooling: Heat Sink Design and Selection
