Dual-Sensor Board Measures Temperature and Air Flow Velocity


norwood, ma, october 2005 – advanced thermal solutions, inc. (ats) has introduced the isd™ board, which is designed to measure air temperature and velocity from two independent sensors. the isd’s sensors provide high speed data rates via analog voltage outputs that range from 0 to 5 volts per sensor. the board can be utilized to control various devices or to provide read-out data for display systems. the isd serves to directly measure air flow and temperature in computer feedback control and measurement systems using mobile sensors that can be placed anywhere in the test domain. typical uses include laboratory wind tunnel controllers, hvac regulators, and automotive mass flow controllers. several isd boards can be integrated onto one pcb for multi-point measurement of velocity, temperature or both.

���� the compact isd temperature and air velocity measurement board has a small 1.60 by 1.06 inches (39.7 by 27.0 mm) platform, and is just 0.41 inches (10 mm) in height.total weight is 6 grams. the high precision sensors are calibrated at 0.3 to 50 m/sec air velocity range, for both low (natural convection) and high flow rates. temperature measurement capability ranges from -30 to 150�c. velocity measurements range from
0 to 50 m/s (10,000 ft/min). starting price for the standard isd board with 2 sensors is $657.00. customized features, including special temperature range calibrations, are available from ats.
