Thermoelectric Module Product Line Added to Digi-Key Online Product Training

laird technologies adds thermoelectric module product line to digi-key’s product training modules online...on demand® series

training module examines thermoelectric module product line and aztec™ simulation selection software

st. louis, missouri, usa – july 12, 2011 – laird technologies, inc., a global leader in the design and supply of customized performance-critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products, today announced it has added its thermoelectric module (tem) product line to digi-key’s product training modules online...on demand (ptm)® series. this module is available for download in audio and non-audio formats from the digi-key website.

the training module provides an in-depth examination of a tem’s composition and functionality, describing its attributes and abilities, and also citing examples of where tems are used in cooling applications. the tutorial includes a review of laird technologies’ tem simulation software tool: aztec™, which is available online through the laird technologies website: http://www.lairdtech.com/products/aztec-software-download/. aztec selects the optimal tem(s) for trial from a given set of input variables based on application attributes that the user specifies. the program also contains an analysis worksheet, which simulates how the tem(s) will function under a specific set of operating conditions.

additionally, the module analyzes the laird technologies tem product line, detailing each tem series within the product line. it shows a comparison between the different product families of tems, and where they compare to each other in regard to temperature differential and heat pumping capacity. the segment ends with a discussion on finishing options, including lapping, sealing, and soldering. these finishing options are required when mounting a tem in most applications in order to accommodate alternate lead lengths, lapping thickness tolerances, and moisture protective sealants.

as an industry leader in high-performance and cost-effective tem solutions, laird technologies provides the knowledge, innovation, and resources to ensure exceptional thermal performance and customer satisfaction for applications in the medical, analytical, telecom, industrial, and consumer markets.
