Australian company brings liquid-cooled fast chargers for electric vehicles to Europe

According to a report from InsideEVs.com, Australian e-mobility solutions provider Tritium recently installed its first liquid-cooled 50 kW fast chargers, the Veefil-RT, in Hungary for NKM Mobilitas Ltd., which is a subsidiary of National Utilities, the state utilities provider.

“The main advantage of liquid-cooled power electronics is that it’s smaller than conventional charger, which could be crucial in some locations like underground parking, where otherwise premium space would be sacrificed,” the article explained.

 

The Tritium website explains that the Veefil-RT fast charger has the “world’s smallest footprint for an electric vehicle fast charger,” and is easy to install, which reduces initial set-up costs.

 

To reduce wear on the parts, Tritium uses a liquid cooling system that gives the charger an operating range of -35°C to +50°C. For companies hoping to promote their brand, Tritium also provides customizable covers.

 

NKM Mobilitas has ordered 12 fast chargers and plans on having 100 by the end of the year, according to InsideEVs.com.
