Thermal Engineer Needed


thermal engineer

degree controls, inc. seeks a self-motivated individual with demonstrated capabilities and experience in thermal design and analysis and thermal packaging of electronic devices.this individual will be responsible for the thermal design and analysis of components; providing suitable thermal designs for proper component operation; and for determining and executing any necessary thermal testing required, ensuring customer requirements are met.

duties and responsibilities��

  • consult with clients on thermal issues
  • perform thermal cfd modeling of systems (electronics, medical equipment, etc.)
  • provide sales and applications support
  • provide and implement�appropriate thermal control systems for electronic components;
  • determine and execute any necessary thermal testing required to meet customer requirements.novel designs are required to minimize the system resource impact while maintaining the temperature requirements;
  • analyze data, interpret results and prepare reports to make recommendations;
  • other duties as assigned

qualifications:

competencies required by this position include attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent interpersonal/customer relations and communication skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.familiarity with standard design and analysis software tools, and mechanical design and analysis a plus.this position requires an individual with a background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics and lab experimentation experience. to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

this position requires a b.s. in mechanical engineering or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience in product thermal characterization and design with knowledge of all product levels, preferably having worked on multiple products.experience in 3-d mechanical design cad and cfd/heat transfer problem modeling required.i-deas esc or flotherm experience required, as well as 3d cad experience.familiarity with atca and nebs standards is a plus.the requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
