New Fan Testing Program

degree controls is pleased to announce its new independent fan testing program. this program will supplement and validate the available data currently published by fan vendors and allow engineers to make the best fan selection for their designs.

the fan is usually the only moving part in many electronics products and is normally the device with the lowest mtbf. responding directly to industry concerns about the lack of application specific fan data, this new degree controls vendor independent fan testing program will provide verification of published data as well as offer clients a means to choose tests which will ensure their fan will be suitable for its intended use.

degree controls has over 10 years experience testing and utilizing fans in their cooling solutions. building upon this internal testing, the new fan testing program is the most comprehensive independent program ever developed. the program addresses the following five major categories which can be tailored to any application.

v airflow performance: airflow-pressure curves at different fan speeds

v electrical performance: power, start up currents, voltage to fan speed relations, locked-rotor current, conducted noise, tach and control signal integrity, voltage isolation

v mechanical validation: dimension, mass,

v environmental testing: temperature scan under operation, acoustic noise measurement

v stress testing: long term life tests under temperature, humidity, vibration

the data provided by this program will ensure not just form, fit and function, but will allow clients to make comparative choices of multiple fans to select the best fan for their needs and have viable second source options.

please contact degree controls for more information regarding this exciting new program.
