woburn, ma, 9 september 2004. lytron has launched the cp12, a new high performance tubed cold plate that offers between 10% and 30% higher performance than other similarly designed products. the cp12 is manufactured using lytron's unique press-lock manufacturing technique, in which the tube is mechanically locked into the cold plate without any performance-limiting epoxy or glue. this results in very efficient heat transfer between the tubing and the plate and therefore superior thermal performance. the cp12 is an aluminum cold plate with a copper fluid path. it is 5" wide and is available in six and twelve inch lengths and with straight or beaded fittings. the cooling circuit is a 4-pass single copper tube, which makes it reliable, leak-free and compatible with water and a wide range of other common coolants. the 3/8" diameter of the tubing ensures that pressure drop across the plate is minimized. the tube is coplanar with the plate to allow mounting on either side or dual sided mounting. the cp12 can be drilled, tapped, or further surface-machined according to customer requirements and for oem volumes other customizations such as geometry and tubing configuration are available. the cp12 is an extremely cost-effective liquid cooling solution suitable for a wide range of electronic cooling applications including power electronics cooling, power supplies, lasers, rf transmitters, semiconductor processing equipment and uninterruptible power supplies. about lytron lytron designs and manufactures high performance heat transfer systems and components. its cooling products include recirculating chillers, compact and portable non-refrigerated cooling systems, cold plates, aluminum oil coolers, copper tube fin heat exchangers, stainless steel tube-fin heat exchangers, and compact brazed-plate heat exchangers. for more information, contact lytron at (781) 933-7300 or visit www.lytron.com.
