the omen x desktop features a tri-chamber design that separates the components. each chamber has its own dedicated cooling feature, provided by liquid cooling supplier asetek. there is also room for up to three 120mm liquid cooling radiators, top mounted exhaust vents, and a stand to lift the unit and pull cool air in.
kevin frost, hp vice president and general manager of consumer personal systems, explained, “hp’s engineers combined a unique design that maximizes thermal management with support for industry standard components so that the true enthusiast can always be up to date with the latest hardware to maintain peak performance with a customized rig.”
with full customization in mind, hp is also releasing empty omen x chassis for gamers who would prefer to build a system to their specifications. the standalone chassis will feature the same thermal benefits. in 2017 hp will be partnering with maingear to allow gamers to design an omen x system using that company’s components as well.
the omen x desktop is expected to be available at select retailers on october 16 with a price of $2,099.99. it is currently available on hp.com at $1,799 and the empty chassis for $599. the laptop is available at hp.com for $1,599.
