as always, alienware has focused on gamers and have worked to provide optimal gameplay, graphics, and now virtual reality as well. in addition, the laptop was designed with anodized aluminum, magnesium alloy, steel reinforcement and copper. the addition of copper is particularly interesting as it will better heat dissipation at the cpu and gpu level. also, the laptop features a “hinge-forward” design to provide a channel for heat to flow out of the system and increase performance.
even though the design is thinner than previous laptops, the new design featured thermal management from the start to improve the performance of individual components.
according to a report on itnewsafrica.com, the “notebook gains more power with overclocked intel core i7 k-series processors and ddr4 memory running up to 2667mhz.”
the battery on the alienware 15, the mid-size option, features a 68 watt-hour lithium-ion battery and an option for a 99 watt-hour battery to ensure the system will keep running as long as gamers need.
