(mdsi) of irvine, calif., has received a $26 million contract to provide thermal management systems (tms) to general dynamics land systems, sterling heights mich., for the m1a2 sepv3 and m1a2 ksa main battle tanks.
this contract supports the recent award from the us government to gdls for the upgrade of 786, m1 abrams for the us army and fms contracts.
mdsi has produced over 2,400 thermal management systems (tms) for the abrams program and this award represents the first of several planned awards in support of this important us army/gdls platform.
the thermal management systems provides active cooling to abrams upgraded electronics and crew. meggitt also supplies the hvac system for the general dynamics land systems – canada, ablav program.
