Webinar: Thermal Management of Electronic and Telecom Systems Using PCMs

Seminars for Engineers, a leading provider of engineering education, is the sponsor of this pre-recorded webinar, “Thermal Management of Electronic and Telecom Systems Using PCMs”. This webinar, taught by Dr. Maurice J. Marongiu, Ph.D., is an introduction to the topic of using Phase Change Materials for system level cooling. This webinar introduces the topic but for the full course, engineers should attend the 2-day in person course, “Thermal Management of Electronics”, November 5-6, 2014 – Austin, Texas USA. To register and for more information, visit, “Seminars for Engineers: Thermal Management of Electronics Course“.

Phase Change Materials (PCMs) are substances that absorb/release large amounts of energy. They are used not just at the thermal interface material level, between a semiconductor and the heat spreader, but also for systems. System types that most benefit from thermal management with Phase Change Materials are those that are subject to periodic heating and cooling cycles, such as outdoor enclosures. This webinar covers the types of typical PCMs, what can be expected from a heat absorbtion and release, and applications for these unique materials. The webinar is 35 minutes in length.
